Linux Engineer (m/w/d)

As a primary digitization partner of the Bundeswehr, we provide stable, safe and efficient IT services in Germany and abroad, from basic operations to the field close to the application and thus contribute to the continuous increase in the leadership and operational capacity of the Bundeswehr. With over 7,000 colleagues, we operate and modernise one of the largest and most complex IT infrastructures in Germany. We are looking for responsible IT specialists who are convinced that the Bundeswehr-IT will further develop in challenging digitalization projects and thus contribute to Germany's security. The Linux department is assigned to the Central Operations area and is responsible for the planning of the Linux IT infrastructure to be used, installation and maintenance of the Linux operating system, as well as SW components used or used on this platform.

Administration of Linux servers (SuSE Linux Enterprise Server and RedHat Enterprise Linux) on x86_64, and IBM Power hardware by ITIL processes Incident Management (2nd Level Support) and Problem Management (3rd Level Support) for SuSE Linux Enterprise Server and RedHat Enterprise Linux Systems Implementation of safety scans and corresponding implementation of various safety parameters Patchmanagement at SuSE Linux Enterprise Server Version 12 and 15, as well as RedHat Enterprise Linux Version 7, 8 and 9 Layout, installation and system maintenance of virtual and physical Linux servers on x86_64, as well as IBM Power Hardware, including HighAvailability Change, Release and Configuration Management Development and implementation of optimization measures Cooperation in small to medium-sized projects

A successfully completed IT degree or comparable training 3 - 5 years of professional experience in Linux administration (SuSE Linux Enterprise Server and RedHat Enterprise Linux Server) in the data center environment At least 2 years of professional experience in designing, building, and operating Linux HighAvailability Systems (Corosync/Pacemaker) on IBM Power (preferably in conjunction with SAP-HANA) Knowledge of bash scripting and programming languages, e.g. sed, awk, python First experience in project cooperation of advantage German language skills in word and writing
