We are currently looking for reinforcement for the topic of fine machining of gears by grinding - a key process for the performance of modern gears. As part of the activity, it is intended to analyze and model how process parameters affect the quality and properties of gears and how this influences the operating behavior. On this basis, new approaches are to be developed to improve the product quality, cost-effectiveness and sustainability of gears and gears. The research results are not only a contribution to scientific development, but also provide valuable impulses for industrial practice. The activity shall include: Research into the influence of the grinding process on the quality, performance and properties of gears Development of models for describing the interactions between production and use behaviour Conception of innovative approaches to increasing product quality, cost-effectiveness and sustainability of modern transmissions Responsible processing of research projects in cooperation with industry and scientific partners Presentation of research results at project partners and at international conferences and conferences Teaching at the RWTH Aachen University through lectures, exercises and supervision of Bachelor's and Master's thesis

Complete university studies (master or comparable) with a technical focus, e.g. in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, production engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, computational engineering science or computer science Interest in scientific work, in questions of modern manufacturing technology and in exciting industrial cooperation Self-employed and committed working methods with a high degree of self-initiative Very good analytical and conceptual skills and a structured approach Team skills, communication strength and joy in interdisciplinary cooperation Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing Prior knowledge in the field of manufacturing or transmission technology as well as in programming are advantageous
