You work in the project team of the Smart Connected Environment (SCET) research area on an interdisciplinary research and development environment in which connected environmental, energy, heat, water and urban systems are investigated and developed. You design, implement and operate an Internet of Things (IoT), sensor technology and communication infrastructure to capture, transmit and integrate data streams. Your tasks include building energy-efficient, resilient and scalable communication solutions using modern technologies such as LoRaWAN, 5G/6G, MQTT, IoT gateways, edge computing AI and distributed system architectures. The TH Lübeck and the CoSA competence centre already have extensive preparatory work in these areas, including wireless data acquisition, LoRaWAN and 5G campus networks. You work with partners from science, business and public administration in cooperative research projects and support the transfer of research results into demonstrators, pilot applications, teaching formats and scientific publications. You will document your research results, contribute to publications, project reports and third-party funding applications, and aim to further scientific qualification, in particular a doctorate, as part of the job.
