The Institute for Low-CO2 Industrial Processes researches new technologies and methods to reduce greenhouse gas emissions of energy-intensive production processes. Specifically, the institute develops new technologies for providing low-emission process heat through efficient electrification with our new high-temperature heat pumps. In addition, we are developing new methods in the field of process simulations for the cost and efficiency-optimal conversion and operation of future industrial processes. We explore new disruptive processes for production processes with unavoidable, process-related emissions.

LCR focuses on production processes with unavoidable, process-related emissions and explores new processes such as iron production with regenerative hydrogen.
