The UIMH ensures microbiological diagnostics of all SALK hospitals at a university medical level. The modernly equipped laboratory has all diagnostic areas of medical microbiology (including MALDI-TOF analyses and broad molecular biological spectrum). In addition, the institute is responsible for all medical hospital hygiene agings of the university hospital, the surveillance of relevant pathogens ensures and advises the clinic in all spital hygiene aspects. The focus of the UIMH is the clinical orientation of the department. The institute sees itself as an interface between the clinic and the laboratory, is closely linked to the SALK antimicrobial stewardship team and takes on a broad range of microbiological-infectiological counselling (including consiliar activity) at all departments of the Uniklinikum. Your focus with us: Microbiological diagnostics in all laboratory areas with always clinical focus Analysis and interpretation of pathogens and resistance mechanisms Clinical and microbiological advice of departments (clinical visits/consiliary) Hospital hygiene (infection epidemiology, infection management and prevention) Active cooperation in the SALK antimicrobial stewardship team after a dedicated introduction Participation in courses (Paracelsus-Medical Private University, FH Salzburg) Participation in weekend and holiday services (day service), readiness to call (until 23:00)

Technical requirements for specialist: completed training as a specialist in clinical microbiology and hygiene for intern: completed or started basic training All requirements for registration in the Austrian list of doctors must be fulfilled Basic computer knowledge Personal requirements Communication and team skills Interest in interdisciplinary clinical cooperation
