In six semesters, you will acquire knowledge of statistics, programming, artificial intelligence and modern methods of data analysis and processing. The degree programme is complemented by economic foundations, IT skills and pioneering technologies that prepare you optimally for interdisciplinary professional practice. A special focus is on the practical application and the international context: Many modules are designed bilingual (German/English) and embrace global developments in data science and AI – from ethical questions to international standards and best practices. During your entire studies, you are employed at the VBL and change in the three-month rhythm between theory and practice. In the practical phases, you will pass through various departments at our location in Karlsruhe and at our subsidiary CONITAS. Get to know the diverse applications of data analysis and artificial intelligence in our business environment – from risk analysis to process automation to strategic decision support. So you combine theoretical knowledge with concrete application – and develop step by step towards/to data science and artificial intelligence expert with practical experience and international perspective.

You have a completed (special) high school. You are interested in digital technologies, data analysis and economic contexts. In cooperation, you can convince by team skills, communication strength and independent work. With your safe handling of mathematics and statistics you think logically, analyze structured and find creative solutions for complex tasks. First IT or programming skills (for example in Python, Excel or SQL) are of advantage – but no requirement. Good knowledge of English and interest in bilingual study content will help you.
