In the metropolitan region of Hamburg, the Hospital Buchholz and Winsen provides non-profit GmbH in two modern, economically successful acute hospitals with 14 specialist departments, 4 centres, CPU and Stroke Unit, 559 plan beds and 1,700 employees annually 32,000 stationary and 73,000 outpatient patients. The focus of the vascular surgery department is on the surgical and endovascular care of abdominal and peripheral vascular diseases, supraaortal vessels, the therapy of venous diseases and dialysis accesses. Another focus is the supply of the diabetic foot syndrome. There is a close cooperation within the heart and vascular centre with angiologes, cardiologists and neurologists and neuroradiology in the home.
