EC 13 TVöD for the Maritime Museum** The SchifffahrtMuseum in the Schlossturm der Landeshauptstadt Düsseldorf is one of the oldest special museums on the Rhine, dedicated to the mediation and research on the history and development of inland navigation. It is a living museum with over 50,000 visitors a year. With its modern forms of mediation, it addresses all ages as well as a regional to international audience. As a lively cultural-historical learning place, it offers a broad programme of events and maintains close cooperation with its active funding circle.

Your tasks include:

• Curation of exhibition projects in cooperation with local, national and international institutions
• scientific support of the permanent exhibition and the collection
• Research and digitization of the collection
• Planning of larger projects: concept creation, project management, time and financial controlling, scientific research
• Application and administration of funding/acquisition of third-party funds (sponsoring)
• Development of mediation concepts to the museum contents
• Designing and supporting publications.

Your profile:

• completed master's degree, ideally history, art history, museum or comparable qualification
• scientific volunteer in the museal area
• Experiences in curatorial activity and project coordination
• proven scientific debate on inland navigation, ideally historical Rhine shipping
• professional experience in a shipping museum and in research and exhibition
• very good language and formulation competence, safe appearance to the public, communication strength, good English knowledge in word and writing
• Creativity, initiative, team capacity, resilience and organisational skills.
