The department has 17 stationary beds and treats over 1,000 stationary patients a year with a case mix of 1.1. There are further training powers for general, visual and vascular surgery. We are an academic teaching hospital of the Medical Faculty Mannheim of the University of Heidelberg and are certified by DGAV as a competence center for hernia surgery. In the field of general and visceral surgery, in addition to the interventions of basic and regular care, the laparoscopic colorectal surgery with proctology is carried out, as well as thyroid and hernia surgery. In the field of vascular surgery, the entire spectrum of arterial and venous vascular medicine is covered, except for thoracic and abdominothoracic aneurysms, Another focus is the supply of the diabetic foot syndrome in close cooperation with the diabetes clinic in Bad Mergentheim.
