Scientific Executive Officer (m/f/d)

In this key position you are the right hand of the Scientific Board. You are not only the interface between the various scientific and administrative departments, but also the link to our external cooperation partners. Their role requires a broad overview of the entire organization and the research landscape in Germany. The versatility and responsibility of this position offer you unique insights and contacts. Your tasks include in detail: In this versatile and responsible position, You support the Scientific Board in strategic and operational tasks – from interaction with scientific and administrative departments of the DKFZ to support strategic cooperation projects in the field of life sciences with other research institutions and universities. You answer inquiries, make correspondence, carry out research independently and create decision templates on this basis. You prepare committee meetings, appointments, reports and presentations of the Board of Management. Your duties include the organisation and coordination of board meetings and the maintenance of decision-making. As the first respondent in matters of content and voting needs with the Scientific Board, you promote the exchange of information in the centre and with the cooperation partners of the DKFZ.

You have an above-average degree in the field of medicine or natural sciences; a promotion is advantageous. Due to the diverse programmes of the DKFZ, both with basic science and with medical-clinical orientation, experiences in both areas are desirable, but no need. You can quickly work into complex topics and have proven experience in the written and visual representation of multi-layered content and relationships. You are characterized by a self-confident appearance and a sovereign expression in German. You also have excellent English skills. You convince us through readiness, organisational skills and a reliable, very efficient and independent way of working. You bring a high degree of self-initiative and time flexibility as well as the willingness to participate in occasional travel activities in Germany and abroad. We require a pronounced social competence, team capacity, loyalty and communication strength.
