Civil Engineer Energy-Efficient Modernization & Cleanroom Projects

Branch: Humanities Branch: Humanities

The Fraunhofer Society is one of the world's leading organisations for application-oriented research. 75 institutes develop groundbreaking technologies for our economy and society – more precisely: 32 000 people from technology, science, administration and IT. You know, who comes to Fraunhofer wants and can change something. For yourself, for us and the markets of today and tomorrow. The Fraunhofer IMS operates several semiconductor cleanrooms on industrial standards in which high-precision systems are used for the production of microchips. These processes are very energy-intensive. Within the framework of a long-term transformation project, our clean room structures are to be fully refurbished and energy-optimized – with the aim of achieving a CO2-neutral operation in a perspective. We thus create the basis for a more sustainable high-tech research and take responsibility for a globally relevant future industry. Modernization projects are also created outside the clean rooms, which our institute develops technologically and functionally. .

Your tasks • Your profile • What we offer

In your role as a civil engineer*in, you conduct new construction, renovation and modernization projects over all phases of performance – with a focus on clean room and infrastructure measures. Take into account both the existing complex building(direct) technology, media supply and clean room architecture as well as the specific needs of our scientific departments, e.g. requirements through highly specialized processing facilities or planned technological extensions. You control the projects with regard to costs, dates and quality and provide complete technical documentation. You agree with the internal stakeholders such as e.g. the institute management and the facility management. You examine and review inventory documents, prepare tenders and accompany the procurement processes together with the purchase. Through regular visits on site, monitor the progress of the project and complete status reports. In addition, you are in contact with external service providers, suppliers and authorities and represent your projects confidently to the outside.
