Focus Networks Place of work: Frankfurt am Main, Düsseldorf, Leipzig Job: Full-time (part-time is possible in principle), unlimited Job ID: 2026_0281_02 As a Cloud Engineer (m/w/d), you can design and operate the basic infrastructure for the Digital Euro in an international team of experts. Your focus is on the combination of network engineering, IaaS/PaaS architectures and Site Reliability Engineering. You work in Cross National teams, with other central banks (6 CB), on building and operating the infrastructure of the Digital Euro.

Planning, design and continuous optimization of IaaS and PaaS environments incl. Governance, Security, Cost and Performance Tuning Construction, automation and operation of complex network infrastructures (LAN/WAN, routing, firewalls, load balancers, VPN) in the cloud Introduction and maintenance of SRE-Best-Practices: Monitoring, SLIs/SLOs, Capacity and Load Testing, Incident Response and Root-Cause Analysis Development of infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines (Git, Bash/Python, Ansible/Terraform, etc.) to increase reliability and release speed Call and weekend services within a 24/7 support model as well as local service trips within Europe Interest awakened? Bachelor or equivalent degree in STEM (probably infor­mation, mathematics, physics, business informatics) or equivalent degree of education or comparable knowledge from a long-term professional experience At least 3 years of experience in the design and operation of cloud infrastructures focusing on networks and Linux system administration Very good knowledge of IaaS/PaaS architectures Wide understanding of technology (e.g. middleware, APIs, container technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes) Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git) and CI/CD pipelines Very good knowledge of network design and operation (LAN/WAN, routing, TLS/SSL, firewalls, load balancing) Very good knowledge of automation & scripting (Bash, Python, IaC tools) Experience with IT security, IAM/RBAC, key management and disaster recovery and business continuity concepts Experience with ITIL processes (Incident/Change/problem) is desirable Representative communication and team skills, both in the national context and in cross-national teams Analytical ability to identify complex relationships and impacts in challenging situations and dealing with different stakeholders (national/international) readiness and ability to travel and to take on call Very good communication skills in German and English; Other foreign languages are advantageous
