Senior System Engineer - Virtualization (m/w/d)

As a primary digitization partner of the Bundeswehr, we provide stable, safe and efficient IT services in Germany and abroad, from basic operations to the field close to the application and thus contribute to the continuous increase in the leadership and operational capacity of the Bundeswehr. With over 7,000 colleagues, we operate and modernise one of the largest and most complex IT infrastructures in Germany. Senior System Engineer - Virtualization (m/w/d) from now on and in full time Munich, Erfurt or Strausberg, alternatively nationwide at one of our BWI locations. The Shared Service Operations (SSO CO ITOM4 Virtualization) division is the Cloud Data Center with a high standardization level for Bundeswehr and Bund as well as enabler and integrator for cloud solutions. Virtualization provides the Hypervisor Platforms based on VMware within Central Operations.

Installation, configuration, commissioning and administration of VMware VCF Selection and conception of new IT solutions and technologies Operational implementation of changes as part of release management with subsequent documentation of changes in IT infrastructure in the configuration databases provided for this purpose Incident management (2nd-level and 3rd-level support) troubleshooting, error analysis and troubleshooting Support for problem management Creation and maintenance of task-specific technical documentation Supporting the operational tools/infrastructure (e.g. ARIA Orchestrator, ARIA Operations, Maximo) for the systems used in the BWI performance specifications

Successfully completed IT vocational training or a study with a focus on computer science or the like. Min. 5 years of relevant professional experience in the context of complex IT structures Very good knowledge in the area of server virtualization, especially VMware vSphere v7 and v8 in the Troubleshooting for IT infrastructures as well as in IT service support processes (focus on incident and problem management) Good knowledge of the script language PowerCLI Valid knowledge of HCI systems (NSX, vSAN, VCF) Good knowledge of VMware Suite Self-management and self-organisation in the field of projects and VMware VCF German language skills in word and writing
