The project “Fostering ecological and socially responsible, decarbonized, inclusive and transformative value chains for energy transition minerals in the SADC region” funded by the Federal Government as part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) aims to improve the extraction and processing of raw materials for the energy transition in the SADC region (development community of southern Africa) with low-carbon, environmentally and socially responsible mining and processing methods. Within this project, the BGR is responsible for the implementation of the work package ''Development of an Environmental and Climate Monitoring System in cooperation with the local supervisory authorities''. You will develop the systems with the countries of Zambia, Mozambique and Namibia, in detail with the following tasks: The tasks of qualification Sustainability concepts: Analysis of environmental impacts and greenhouse gas emissions in mining and further processing Creating concepts for assessing greenhouse gas emissions in the global raw material sector and developing scenarios for the future development of the mining sector in Zambia and Mozambique as well as further value creation with a focus on potentials for emission reduction Transfer of results to the target countries, including design and support in the development of manuals, guides and guidelines, as well as training programmes for environmental monitoring in cooperation with supervisory authorities and mining associations Scientific project management with coordination and management of the above-mentioned tasks as part of an international project with special involvement of partners in Zambia and Mozambique

A completed university degree (master or comparable) of geosciences, mining engineering, or another study with raw material.
