Surgical Technical Assistant (m/w/d) in the field of preclinical research part-time (50%)

“Research for a life without cancer” – this is our task at the German Cancer Research Center. We investigate how cancer is created, identify cancer risk factors and look for new strategies that prevent people from suffering from cancer. We develop new methods that allow tumours to be diagnosed more precisely and cancer patients to be treated more successfully. The National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) is a long-term cooperation between the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), excellent partners in university medicine and other research institutions at six locations in Germany. The aim of the NCT is to quickly and safely bring promising results from cancer research into clinical application. This will provide cancer patients with comprehensive access to innovative treatment approaches.

One of the six NCT sites is the NCT Dresden (NCT/UCC), which is carried by the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden (UCC), the Medical Faculty Carl Gustav Carus of the TU Dresden and the Helmholtz Centre Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR). At the closest possible time, the German Cancer Research Center is looking for a:n surgical assistant:in (m/w/d) in the area of preclinical research in part-time (50%). Reference number: 2025-0137 In November 2020, a unique research platform was launched at NCT Dresden. In the Experimental-OP, doctors develop:inside innovative surgical methods and assistance systems for computer- and robot-controlled cancer surgery. The OP is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology that is available for research projects of different disciplines.

We are looking for a new team member for the surgery care and offer an interesting activity in the field of preclinical surgical research without night, weekend and holiday service. They support the projects taking place in the Experimental OP: Technical support in the framework of research projects, as well as in teaching and public relations Implementation of pre- and post-processing work including Control of equipment required Instrumentation and Springer Activity Correct application, treatment, care and disposal of used instruments, equipment and materials Support in the development and implementation of standards for the further development of research infrastructure and operational organisation Participation in the search and procurement of equipment and materials Support for the users participating in events:inside Implementation of hygienic measures Conducting routine activities of an OP area (device controls, material logistics) Participation in the development and implementation of standards and operating methods Implementation of work instructions and instructions for employees:inside, users:inside the research infrastructure Documentation of research-related data, as well as device and material logistics Participation in the optimization of operations in the Research OP

completed training or further training as operational: assistant:in or comparable qualification; Anesthesia experience desirable Embossed technical understanding and experience in handling state-of-the-art medical technology Self-responsible and reliable operation, organizational and communication skills Knowledge of relevant legal bases (Betäubmittelgesetz, Data Protection Act, Medical Device Operator Regulation) Willingness to work on animals and their qualifications Good knowledge of German in word and writing, basic knowledge of English Good knowledge of MS Office applications Knowledge of hospital information systems and material procurement (SAP) Timely flexibility with regard to morning, afternoon and early evening hours
