The Digital Library and Bavarica department is the central innovation and production unit of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek around the multifaceted major theme “Digital Library”. Digitalization and the presentation and long-term archiving of digital content are key areas of activity. A focus of the work is on the Internet offerings on the history and culture of Bavaria. As part of these activities, bavarikon was created, an online platform of the Free State of Bavaria for the presentation of cultural goods from Bavarian archives, libraries and museums. The Bayerische Staatsbibliothek is responsible for the organizational, editorial and technical operation.

4 TV-L, part-time with up to 20 hours per week, limited for 2 years

Your tasks:

• Data entry in databases
• Input and maintenance of content in the content management system of bavarikon
• Testing new content in the portal
• Management and maintenance of Excel lists and project management tool

Your profile:

• Immatriculated as a student (primarily studies in the fields of history, art history, German studies or cultural studies)

In addition, you have:

• very good expressability in the German language in word and writing (C2 level)
• good knowledge of English in word and writing
• strong communication and team skills
• dedicated and independent working
• good knowledge with the standard office applications (Word, Excel)
• Basic knowledge of the use of content management systems (CMS)
• Basic knowledge of image processing
