Through Pforzheim three rivers flow with Enz, Nagold and Würm – around 80 bridges connect the city and its people. In addition, there are numerous other engineering structures such as supporting walls, underpasses, stairways and parking facilities that shape the cityscape and infrastructure in a sustainable manner. Many of these buildings are refurbished, modernized or rebuilt in the coming years.

You will work closely with numerous fields of expertise in the Green Area and Civil Engineering Office as well as other urban offices. You take over the owner and builder function for urban engineering works and advise decision-makers on technical issues relating to bridges, underpasses, support walls, stairways and parking facilities You plan and design sophisticated engineering structures over all phases of performance and develop economic and sustainable solutions. Tendering, awarding and billing of engineering services and technical engineering services You control the tendering, awarding and billing of engineering services and accompany external engineering offices professionally and in partnership You evaluate the results of the construction tests, derive necessary measures and develop a sustainable recovery and conservation programme You are responsible for the planning and implementation of renovation, renewal and new construction measures and accompany them until the successful completion You coordinate your projects with the participating urban areas and ensure smooth cooperation between all project participants You take over the project management including appointment, cost and quality control You support the field management in technical and organizational tasks and actively contribute your ideas to the further development of the field of expertise.

a completed university degree in civil engineering with a deepening in construction engineering or a comparable degree course Professional experience in structural engineering (object or structural design) is desirable, but no requirement Knowledge of the award and handling of engineering services Knowledge of common technical directives and regulations Experience and knowledge with Building Information Modelling (BIM) would be desirable the ability to develop creative solutions and think conceptually the curiosity and willingness to work into new, even superficial tasks Communication skills, team skills and responsibility a safe and sovereign occurrence good knowledge of German in word and writing
