The Rohhütte Werk Ost (RWO) is one of the most modern and powerful copper huts worldwide. Every year, we process over 1.1 million tonnes of copper concentrate to more than 400,000 tonnes of anode copper. As the largest and most efficient operation, RWO is a central part of the integrated Hamburg plant. Ensuring the safety of work before the start of work: Examination of all occupational safety-related documents (e.g. occupational safety instructions for foreign companies, licences, LMRA, LoTo-Scheine für Eigen- und Fremdgewerke) before the commencement of operations. Process monitoring and site removal: independent control of safety-relevant processes with a focus on Lockout/Tagout (LoTo) as part of construction site removal. Risk management: creation, revision and testing of hazard assessments, operating instructions and LoTo instructions. Standardization of work processes: further development, revision and creation of standard work instructions for activities within the enterprise. Coordination of external service providers: commissioning and monitoring of foreign companies during cleaning, including auditing. Equipment and materials management: ordering, management and inventory control of personal protective equipment (PSA) and safety-related tools. Training and training management: Planning and implementation of environmental, occupational safety and instruction training during the year. Communication and discussion: organisation, moderation and follow-up of the RWO monthly occupational safety meetings. Team and shift coordination: the inclusion, evaluation and coordination of safety issues from the reports of the occupational safety officers of the five alternating layers. Leadership & Collaboration: Target-oriented cooperation in the team as well as professional guidance of employees, foreign traders and trainees. Responsibility & Quality: Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental and occupational safety requirements as well as active participation in the continuous improvement (KVP) of the processes.

Successfully completed professional/technical training, ideally from the field of process engineering and multi-year relevant professional experience. Knowledge in the field of occupational safety, plant safety, environmental and health protection. Safe handling of Lockout/Tagout (LoTo) systems and their implementation in practice. Good knowledge of relevant laws, standards and regulations (e.g. ArbSchG, BetrSichV, GefStoffV, DGUV). Experience in creating hazard assessments, operating instructions and safety concepts. Routinized handling of MS Office and SAP. Very good knowledge of German in word and writing. High self-initiative, sense of responsibility and decision-making. Participation in regular training and further development in the field of occupational safety.
