Number: MER00043TA At Global Customer Service and Parts (GCSP/TPC), we accompany the entire life cycle of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, from the service-oriented design of our products to market launch and product support and probation. We support the service organisations worldwide, possibly also on site. We work with our partners from GCSP, development, production, purchasing, legal and quality. We create operating instructions, write diagnostic procedures and are experts in parts technology as well as in product evaluation and regulation. In the service area for Mercedes-Benz cars, our team is responsible for the retrofitting technology and accessories of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. This includes the engineering of retrofit projects, starting from planning and method definition to the publication of technical information and their worldwide distribution of retrofits and digital services. The web-based MBupgrades application is our digital interface to the global dealer network and enables efficient handling of vehicle retrofits as well as digital services. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to further develop this platform by digitizing process steps previously mapped outside the application in order to establish a continuously efficient and comprehensible workflow directly in MBupgrades. These challenges come to you: Analysis of the existing email-based process as a basis for digital transformation

Collection, structuring and prioritization of technical and technical requirements for digital workflow

Conception and modeling of a continuous digital workflow within the existing web application MBupgrades

Development and implementation of process integration in MBupgrades

Optimization of user management, process traceability and efficiency compared to previous approach

Evaluation and evaluation of the developed solution based on defined criteria compared to the existing e-mail process

Documentation of results in the form of a scientific thesis

The activity can begin from August 2026. The final topics will be discussed with the university, you and us.

Study programme Media Informatics, Business Informatics, Technical Informatics or a comparable study programme

Good knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript (TypeScript of advantage)

Experiences with relational databases

Good programming knowledge in object-oriented programming languages (preferably Python or JavaScript)

Experiences with full-stack development and version control systems (especially GitHub) are advantageous

First experiences with cloud technologies (Docker, AWS) are of advantage

Personal competencies: Analytical way of thinking and structured working

Own initiative and enthusiasm for modern web technologies and process digitalization

Communication and team skills

Interest in automotive technology and after-sales service processes are desirable
