At our innovative chair we develop current know-how in the field of electrical mobility components. As part of our national and international industrial and research projects, we also provide excellent presentation skills in addition to project management. Hands-on mentality can be developed with us through practical tasks in one of our two machine halls with the most modern infrastructure. True to our motto “PEM – Science for E-Mobility Production”, we combine eight research groups in three areas. We continuously develop the production processes of electric vehicles and their components (battery, electric motor and fuel cell). Research group “Hydrogen Technology” (HT) The research group “Hydrogen Technology” at the chair PEM contributes to the economic, variant-flexible, future-oriented and sustainable production of fuel cells as well as to vehicle integration and the production of fuel cell vehicles and in the field of electrolysis technology. From the implementation of strategic consulting projects to the investigation of specific technical issues from laboratory scale to series production, the team focuses on almost all topics in the field of hydrogen-based mobility. The environment Our versatile and demanding topics enable close cooperation with leading and skilled OEMs, automotive suppliers, machine and plant manufacturers, startups and other well-known industrial partners. The creative design of your tasks is an important part of your personal development, which is particularly evident in the development of your doctoral project. Here you can explore a current trend topic, such as agile factory planning. Your doctorate thus specifically complements your previous activities. You are shaping projects with industrial partners from acquisitions to planning and execution (e.g. in technology screening, production planning and strategy development in the field of electromobility). In the context of research projects, You investigate exciting questions on fuel cell production and integration (MEA production, system design and assembly, application-oriented vehicle integration) and electrolysis. Within the framework of research and industrial projects, You develop guidelines for tomorrow's hydrogen-powered mobility. You increase the sustainability of green hydrogen by optimizing production processes, cell designs and materials used. You consider the circular economy of hydrogen technologies to close the circle of critical raw materials in hydrogen technology. You are researching repair, remanufacture or recycling of hydrogen technologies after their lifetime. You serve students during their graduation and conduct courses. You will receive early budget and leadership responsibility and will be able to shape themes independently.

You have a successfully completed degree (master or comparable) in the technical field (e.g. mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering). You have ideally already gained first practical experience in consulting, development, production or e-mobility. You have the self-esteem to develop new topics and to take advantage of design space. You work structured and binding, think creative and pragmatic, are curious and motivated to learn new things again and again. You have a high readiness to travel and are flexible. You speak and write fluent German and English.
