You are hired in the IT system house as an IT engineer/in. Possible places of work for this tender are: Nuremberg/Fürth, Berlin, Chemnitz, Düsseldorf, Hannover, Krefeld, Lübeck, Mainz. Please enter your preferred working place (possibly several) as part of an application. The BA is the largest producer of data on the labour market in Germany. This data is processed by us in the IT system house of the BA in one of the largest data warehouses (DWH) in the German IT landscape with more than 60,000 database tables and more than 600 billion data sets. Our business intelligence division consists of data analysts, developers, database professionals and front end designers who accompany the entire process from consulting the department, data modeling, coding and visual implementation to analysis and testing of the results. The data products of our DWH are provided to official statistics and labour market research. At the same time, the control and operational control of the BA is supported in a data-driven manner by offering evaluation possibilities via the Business Intelligence Self Service and the Controlling Portal. The database programming in Oracle environments, using the ODI ETL tool, is of central importance for this job description. Tasks and activities For the various applications, we use modern platform technologies and develop system architectures for development and operating environments that meet the high requirements of IT security, availability and performance. Resource management supports various business processes from sectors such as finance, human resources and materials management. The main focus of the activity is our Data Warehouse in the “platforms and data products” unit, the topic “platform data products” in the field of business intelligence/artificial intelligence. Design, develop, test, optimize and operate software solutions and infrastructures that meet the requirements of the client and user. You work in interdisciplinary teams to create and/or adapt high-quality and reliable software and infrastructures. The location is marked with the focus on “backend technology”. This focus includes software development in the part of a software application that is responsible for the processing of data and the provision of functions. This includes, for example, the implementation of complex business logics, the creation of interfaces to other systems or the optimization of the scalability and performance of systems. The tasks and activities as a Senior Professional System Engineer extend to the independent implementation of the following tasks and the guidance of others. This includes, in particular, the following activities: Planning, administration and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructures, including implementation of second-level support Analysis of system requirements and performance data on the performance of the software solutions created Development, updating and monitoring of software and the updating and monitoring of hardware: The database programming in Oracle environments is of central importance, using the ODI ETL tool.
