As part of the Hamburg metropolitan region, the district of Segeberg is conveniently located in the middle of Schleswig-Holstein between the North and the Baltic Sea and is a reliable employer for around 1,100 employees. As a member of our team, you ensure that animal welfare and animal health requirements are complied with, in particular, in pig holdings. We as a team are responsible for a part of the county veterinarian office and for the entire district.

In particular, monitoring of all pig holdings and, if necessary, initiating administrative measures with regard to animal health law (SchHaltHygV, ASP prevention and testing for animal disease monitoring) and animal welfare regulations as well as conditionality/cross compliance Preparation of expert opinions/reviews for other authorities, other departments in the home and the prosecutor's office Participation in the implementation of authorisation and authorisation procedures and monitoring of activities subject to authorisation/approval by animal welfare and animal health rules including animal transport controls Assessment and attestation for the movement and export of animals from Germany and the monitoring of the movement and import of animals by animal health and animal welfare legislation Implementation of control measures in the event of animal diseases and participation in the crisis centre
