The BBK is the head office of the Federal Government for National Crisis Management in Germany. We ensure the quality of crisis management in a central coordination role with federal, international and cross-sector partners. In view of this task, our interdisciplinary team is growing steadily. We are looking for dedicated professionals who want to make Germany more crisis-proof. The warning of the population is one of the core tasks of the BBK. Our goal is to be able to warn as many people as possible in the event of dangers for body and life. For this purpose, we observe the airspace at our civil protection liaison offices 24/7 and, if necessary, release immediate warnings. From our Warning Centre in Bonn we ensure the function of the federal warning systems as well as the cooperation of various devices of the warning as a whole. For our Civil Protection Agency in Uedem we are looking for an unlimited period (m/d) in civil protection Group E 12 TVöD (Bund) in Unit L.4 'Federal warning systems 3; Operation (24/7)’

Position observation and assessment – In cooperation with military and civilian partners, you continuously observe the warning position in the inter-shift service and evaluate the findings independently. Exchange of information – You proactively ensure cross-resort information flow and cooperation with other authorities in the area of public protection. Warnings – In case of attacks on the airway or out of space, you initiate the warning of the population. You process the necessary warning procedures independently and write required warning messages in your own competence. Monitoring of IT procedures – you take over the monitoring of the operation of the Modular Warning System (MoWaS) and the other components of the warning system operated by the federal government. Basic work – The findings obtained in the context of your activity at the liaison office will introduce you to the basic work of the unit.

You have a completed university degree (Bachelor/ Diplom FH) or a career qualification for the high-end non-technical, technical or fire-fighting service or you have successfully completed the ATN 6 training of the Bundeswehr as a “introduction field wobble”. You have already gained experience in the field of national or international civil or civil protection and staff work. Ideally, you already have military experience in the field of radar, deployment or Flight guidance services or experience in civil/ police/military cooperation, for example as a liaison officer or contact person. You can safely control the handling of common information and media technology. A very good oral and written expressiveness (German C2 / English B1 according to GER) completes your profile. You have a very high level of responsibility and willingness to decide. You are happy to work in the team and have a strong communication capability, service orientation and rapid understanding. You bring the health suitability and the willingness to act as interchangeable shift services, including those in sheltered facilities, to take on call readiness as well as to (also multi-day) missions in Germany and abroad. When activated in a call readiness, you can reach the location within 60 minutes. Since our tasks are safety-relevant and event-oriented, we need your willingness to extend the safety review and to participate in the BBK crisis organisation. As a result of the special conditions of employment in civil protection services, German citizenship within the meaning of Article 116 of the Basic Law is a prerequisite for recruitment.
