Number: MER0003OI1 The MP - Mercedes-Benz Procurement and Supplier Quality division is responsible for an annual purchase volume in the two-digit billion range of all Mercedes-Benz Cars & Vans as well as the quality of all Mercedes Benz Cars. With the support of nearly 1,500 suppliers in Germany and abroad, we supply our worldwide vehicle and aggregate plants with the necessary production materials. We have locations in Germany, South Africa, China, USA, India, Mexico and Argentina. Do you want to gain practical experience in purchasing and actively snug into the job of a buyer, have fun working in a motivated team, gaining a wide range of insights into the operational and strategic procurement processes and processes of Mercedes-Benz AG, working closely with suppliers and departments, and understanding how a modern and professional shopping department is guided and controlled? Then you are right with us! The team “purchasing for lighting, roof and mirror systems” is responsible for purchasing headlights, tail lights, roofs and mirrors for all Mercedes-Benz vehicle classes. We are in coordination and negotiation with international suppliers every day to secure the supply chains in the long term. In purchasing, we continuously analyze the dynamic changes in the market and review the purchasing and supplier strategy for our components. We assign development and series orders and are in the process of innovation and new developments from the outset. You can actively support us. These challenges include: Support in the preparation and follow-up of discussions and negotiations with national and international suppliers Prices and Conditions of Contract Preparation of negotiation results, creation of management presentations & visualization of key figures for preparing management decisions for awards Active cooperation in the operational business (e.g. creation and testing of purchases) Cooperation in the development of negotiation and procurement strategies as well as cross-functional strategy projects at management level Construction and comparison of different business cases using predicted unit numbers/costs Organisation of workshops, presentations and supplier talks A hybrid work partially home office and partly on site is possible The internship can start from September 2025.
