Platform Architect (m/f/d)

As a platform architect, you play a central role in the strategic and operational development of our sourcing platform, which includes procurement solutions such as web shops, punch-out shops, APIs and much more. You develop innovative, scalable solutions and support various development teams to optimize procurement processes for our customers in a sustainable manner. Architecture: You continuously develop, care and optimise the technical architecture of our sourcing platform at both strategic and operational levels. Architecture governance: In a complex development organization, you develop effective governance processes and integrate the security standards according to ISO 27001 as well as the “Secure by Design” principles to ensure the long-term consistency, security and sustainability of our architecture. Solution Design: You are the first solution designs to form the basis for complex projects, working with different teams and departments to find the best possible solutions for our customers. Hands-On support: You work with our around 15 development teams and provide direct support through programming or the implementation of architecture and code reviews as needed. Best Practices: You rely on proven best practices and help establish them throughout the company to continuously improve our architecture standards. Coaching: You pass on your knowledge and experience and contribute not only to the further development of our technology, but also to our entire company.

Technical degree: You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. Architecture competence: You have a well-founded knowledge of software architecture and system design and successfully apply common architectural patterns. Comprehensive experience: You have at least 10 years of experience in software development, including at least 5 years in a key role with architectural responsibility in an organization with more than 5 development teams. Methodology: You know the best practices of architecture and trade accordingly. Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and modelling techniques (e.g. UML, C4) belong to your standard tool box. Tech Stack: You have experience with at least one of the major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and have knowledge of Java, Spring, Kubernetes as well as common relational and NoSQL databases. Security Mindset: You have practical experience with ISO 27001 and secure software development life cycles (SSDLC). You will also understand how to reconcile the rapid deployment of new features with robust security measures such as threat modeling and security architecture reviews. Communication: One of your strengths is to make complex technical issues accessible to non-technical colleagues. Solution orientation: You have the analytical skills and persistence required to understand and optimize complex processes. Languages: You have very good English skills (C1); German knowledge is advantageous.
