For our AI Products & Services division, we are looking for a*n Data Engineer (m/w/d) in fulltime or parttime at the next possible time.
As a team member, you support us in developing innovative AI applications for use in schools and in the Cornelsen Group. Your focus is on the development and operation of our central data platform: This enables data management and provision across the entire lifecycle and provides data engineers with standardized services. Together with our Data Engineers team, you are responsible not only for the technical implementation, but also for the entire process – from conception to smooth operation of the services within the Data Platform. You follow the development of data technologies and good practices in the field of AI (e.g. vector databases, embedding models, RAG) and implement them together with the team.
You have at least 3 years of professional experience in this field. You bring a completed degree in business informatics, computer science, mathematics or a related area or a comparable qualification. You have extensive experience in designing and implementing data platforms, data APIs and data pipelines. You control the design and development of REST APIs for data provision, preferably with FastAPI. You can define data service building artifacts (with Docker and Gitlab CI). You can provide data services in production (with Kubernetes, Terraform and Ansible). You feel comfortable with our tech stack and have ideally already experience with great parts of it: Python (e.g. alembic, Dagster, DuckDB, FastAPI, pandas, Polars, SQLAlchemy), S3, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Redis, MongoDB. You have good knowledge of German and English.
