IT Specialist – Database Management System (m/f/d)

The subject area 23.2 “IT-Engineering/Middleware” as one of five organizational units in the department 23 “IT-Engineering” deals with the development of IT solutions for the police NRW. The focus is on database management systems (DMS) and the following activities shape your new workplace: Conception, standardization, implementation and further development of existing and new databases and database systems focusing on PostgreSQL, MariaDB and Oracle Testing, conception, proof of concept and documentation of database migrations (e.g. Oracle to PostgreSQL) Testing, conception, proof of concept and documentation of large, nationwide IT infrastructures in the field of database management systems Technical support for Troubleshooting, Performance Tuning, Hardening and Maintenance of Database Systems Interface implementation to different target systems (e.g. Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, MECM and SharePoint) Requirements management for database management systems Implementation of technical requirements Creating, maintaining and updating nationwide concepts and training Testing and processing of Service Requests (Third Level Support) Consulting and support for projects, authorities and other stakeholders

You have a successfully completed (specialized) university course (bachelor or corresponding university degree) of communication technology, computer science, communication technology, information technology or a comparable degree course and at least three years of relevant professional experience or You have a successfully completed technical vocational training plus a completed further training for the state-tested technician/to the state-tested technician (m/w/d) or a completed further training on the operational professional and at least three years relevant professional experience or You have a successfully completed vocational training in the field of communication technology, computer science, communications technology or information technology or in a comparable field and at least six years of relevant professional experience To this end, you must provide the willingness to carry out a safety review (SÜ 2). This requires that your residence has been in the Federal Republic of Germany or a Member State of the EU for at least five years.
