In your role as a technical assistant - metallography and material science (m/w/d) in the layer model, you support all research and development teams worldwide as well as the areas of application and distribution. With state-of-the-art methods such as high-resolution scanning electron microscopy (SEM), focused ion beam (FIB), electron backscattering (EBSD) and STEM analysis (Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy), we provide decisive insights into microstructures and material behavior. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a dedicated personality who enjoys precision, high-tech analytics and interdisciplinary cooperation. This position is occupied in the two-layer system. The layers are distributed flexibly in the team. We are looking for a person who enjoys structured shiftwork and appreciates the advantages of a planable work rhythm.

Your responsibility Preparation of metallographic samples by cutting, embedding, grinding, polishing, etching, FIB and other preparation techniques Conduct detailed metallographic investigations using light microscopy, SEM, STEM, EBSD and other analytical methods Characterization of microstructural features (e.g. grain size, phases, inclusions, precipitations, defects, texture) Cause analysis of material defects and failures as well as deriving recommendations for correction and prevention measures Close cooperation with interdisciplinary teams to support R&E projects, process optimization and material development

Senior Consultant (m/w/d) or Bachelor Degree in Materials Science Ideally, you have first relevant professional experience in metallography, microscopy or FIB analysis Safe handling of metallographic preparation techniques and craftsmanship (e.g. transverse grinding preparation) Knowledge of SEM, FIB, EBSD and ideally STEM Team-oriented working methods and reliable, precise working methods Good MS-Office knowledge Very good knowledge of German and English Ready to work in the layer model
