Research Assistant – Electricity Markets and Subsidy Design (m/f/d)

As part of the Dok program, you will receive your doctorate at Fraunhofer ISI, which is based on a four-year contract. The preparation of the dissertation takes place at the interface of project work and independent scientific work with a strong focus on current issues in applied research. You work mainly on topics related to European and German energy policy and take an interdisciplinary perspective that combines technology, business and politics. Their main areas of work are the interface between analyses of energy markets and the design of policy instruments, including the European electricity market and the design of funding instruments such as auction-based differential agreements. Their work combines quantitative and qualitative analyses, economic understanding and technical knowledge on regulatory frameworks and policy objectives to support policy in achieving climate protection targets. You are involved in the processing of interdisciplinary research projects and work in different project teams. In the projects you are increasingly taking responsibility and continue to develop in project management.

Graduate or Master's degree in the field of economics, economic engineering, natural sciences or another relevant subject Interest in developing your scientific qualification through a doctoral degree and potential for further scientific profile formation Motivation for action in applied research to succeed in the energy transition and to achieve climate protection objectives Knowledge of energy, political and/or technical issues in the field of energy system analysis Experiences with quantitative and possibly also qualitative methods during study, modeling and programming are advantageous Quick conception and incorporation into new topics as well as interest in the design of and cooperation in application-oriented research projects Teamability, a high degree of autonomy and cooperation willingness and interest in in interdisciplinary work Good expressability in German and English as well as the ability to present work results in a convincing manner in writing and orally Further language skills and experience in project acquisition and/or project management are advantageous
