The SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. is a renowned aid organisation and a free, non-profit institution of child and youth assistance with 38 facilities throughout the federal territory and around 5,200 employees.

As one of the most recent locations in Germany, the SOS Children's Village Essen has been active since 2016. In January 2018, the SOS Children's Village Centre in the northern district of the city established itself as well as several units of the residence. Early assistance, parental advice and family assistance, an open neighbourhood café, various forms of social group work for children aged 6-15 and a children's group have found their place here. The diverse offers were extended in August 2020 by the opening of Kita Knifte. In the future, the SOS Children's Village Essen will also take responsibility for children, young people and families and will continue to grow according to existing needs.

In the SOS Children's Village of Essen we are looking for a Praktikant (m/w/d) für das Starter-Project: SchuBiE-Schulbeginn in Essen in parttime (20 hours/Where)

As part of the new preventive educational project ''Starter-Project: SchuBiE-Schulbeginn in Essen'' you will accompany children aged 5 to 6 years who do not visit a day care center. The goal is to these children. The aim is to provide these children with early educational impulses, social participation and a successful school start. They work with a fixed group of up to 10 children. In a protected framework, you create a structured, loving and learning-promoting everyday life. The focus is on early childhood education, social participation and holistic development management.

Your tasks include: Participation in the establishment and implementation of a new, preventive education programme for children in pre-school age who do not attend a daycare facility Planning, structuring and designing a creative and promoting educational everyday life for a fixed group of 10 children aged 5 to 6 years Creating a secure, stimulating learning environment that awakens both the joy of learning and strengthens central basic competencies for a successful school entrance individual support and promotion of child development with a holistic view of educational, development and participation opportunities Observation, documentation and evaluation of development processes for targeted funding planning close cooperation with the families to establish educational partnerships and to successfully shape the transition to school. Active participation in the content and conceptual development of the project safe implementation of child and care protection, based on current legal foundations and educational standards
