A forest economist / a forest economist ensures the preservation, care, rejuvenation as well as the sustainable and gentle use of the diverse urban forest and thus contributes a valuable contribution to nature, environmental and climate protection. Examples of the diverse tasks in the urban forest are: Planting and care in the forest precipitation, working up and surveying of trees Construction and maintenance of recreational facilities Handling of the material wood Entertainment of forest and recreational paths Measures in the field of ecology, conservation and landscape management Transport To become a specialist for the forest in everyday life, you will acquire comprehensive knowledge of the complex forest ecosystem as part of our cultural landscape. Teamwork and occupational safety are essential conditions.

You will complete the school with a main school degree, the middle maturity or the Abitur. You will enjoy varied work in nature. You are physically able to carry out craft activities in the forestry sector. It is desirable if you have already completed an internship in this or another 'green profession'. You are ready to attend the vocational training course in the forestry training centre Mattenhof near Gengenbach/Offenburg.
