Head of Payments, Account Operations & Services (m/f/d)

The PAOS (Payments & Account Services) division is part of the Business Management & Operations (BMO) division and comprises around 100 employees at Hannover, Braunschweig and Oldenburg sites, currently organising 6 groups.

PAOS is responsible for the handling of approx. 200 million payment transactions per month - both nationally and internationally - and also takes over the Girocentral function. In addition, the department controls product management for innovative payment products such as Wero, Instant Payment and Debit and Credit Cards. In the Account Services section, around 500 account openings and closures are run monthly.

Your duties include:

You assume the overall responsibility for all national and international payment transactions as well as the current central function for connected savings banks You control product management, develop product strategy and manage all payment products You ensure the implementation of regulatory requirements, keep track of the market and promote innovation You are responsible for customer and account service in corporate customer business, including onboarding, legitimation and electronic banking services You monitor the embargo and penalty checks in daily payment processing according to legal requirements You efficiently and optimise processes through outsourcing and process automation (e.g. Robotics, AI) You control and monitor processes based on KPIs, take care of SLA management and ensure the standardization and harmonisation of processes

You have a successfully completed university degree in economics, finance, or comparable and bring at least 15 years of professional experience in the financial services sector with You have deep knowledge of payment and account services as well as extensive experience in implementing regulatory and compliance requirements You have proven competence in process optimization, digitization and automation of payment transactions You bring experience in product management and the development of new payment solutions You have strong analytical skills, a high solution orientation, very good knowledge of German and English as well as leadership experience and a good understanding of operational banking processes You have strong leadership skills and can motivate and further develop a team of highly qualified employees You bring high innovation readiness and actively promote digitization and automation in payment transactions You are strong in communication, enforceable, and you are safe from internal and external stakeholders while you work in a structured and targeted way and keep an overview in challenging situations
