Actively shape the future of science – at NFDI The National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) e.V. is a non-profit association with the mission of systematically developing valuable data from science and research, networking and making it useful in the long term. Bund and countries jointly promote NFDI and create an indispensable prerequisite for new research questions, insights and innovations. 26 specialist consortia, 327 member organisations and more than 1600 persons from different scientific disciplines are currently involved in the association. The directorate and office will support the association in coordinating the various institutions and departments, content-strategic, overarching cooperation and representation to the outside.
At an international level, the NFDI Association represents Germany's national interests in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Association as a mandated member. Since 2025, the NFDI association has helped to build the EOSC as a support for distributed systems (EOSC Federation). In the project “Building up EOSC Node Germany”, which is currently in the request for the German Research Foundation (DFG), the NFDI association works together with partners to build the EOSC Node Germany, which is to serve as a central point of access for German researchers to the EOSC Federation. We are looking for this project, subject to the first funding grant. September 2026 in full time one:n Scientific:r Referent:in - Security and Policy The body shall be limited until 31 December 2027. Further employment beyond the funding period will be pursued subject to further project funding.
