Spokesman of the Regional Church (m/f/d)

The press office answers journalist requests and communicates interlocutors (m/w/d). It informs secular and ecclesiastical media about press and public events, themes and positions of the constitutional organs Landessynode and Oberkirchenrat, which represent the Landesbischof and the Synodal President to the outside. It prepares information of ecclesial life for representation in the media. It also spreads spiritual content and addresses fundamental questions of faith and the Church. This is done in various media forms (text, image, sound, moving image/video), which are either commissioned to create or taken over by other institutions or persons or produced by the press office in an independent and proactive manner. Spokesperson (m/w/d) and press office advise Landesbischof, Landessynode and the Oberkirchenrat in all media-relevant questions. You are responsible for the national church website „elk-wue.de“ and the national church newsletter as well as for the national church social media channels. The press office advises church districts, municipalities and institutions in their communication and media work on challenging issues and crisis situations. Further tasks of the speaker (m/w/d) are: Technical and disciplinary direction of the press office Accompanying synodal work Contact to (free) journalists and editors of professional public media (B2B) Production and Distribution of Social Media Content (B2C) Crisis communication Coordination and content responsibility in joint publications and statements with other churches and state organizations Consultation and support of senior national church bodies and bodies in relation to their communication and public relations Head of press conferences and media events Answering publicly relevant media requests and other publicly relevant correspondence Strategic development of the national church communication as well as the design and development of the national church media channels

A evangelical personality with the following qualification and requirement profile is sought for the performance of this task: Completed specific university and/or theology studies Width of journalistic knowledge and a basic understanding of communication and public relations Multiannual professional experience in the media sector, ideally in the Evangelical Church in Württemberg We expect membership in a church of the Evangelical Church in Germany
