To strengthen our team of Schleswig-Holstein Netz GmbH, we are looking for a platform engineer virtualization and containerization (m/w/d)* at the next possible time for our location in Bad Segeberg, Rendsburg or Quickborn near Hamburg.

The secure and efficient provision of infrastructure is a central basis for the successful operation of our on-prem systems in the KRITIS environment. As a Platform Engineer Virtualization and Containerization (m/w/d)*, you and your team will ensure that our virtualized and containerized platforms are operated reliably, safely and efficiently. With your know-how in the areas of virtualization, automation and container technologies, you make a decisive contribution to the stability of our system landscape. - You automate the setup and maintenance of virtual machines and templates. - You are integrating new operating systems for automated rollout. - You enter and maintain our virtualization platforms (e.g. VMware, Nutanix AHV). - You monitor and optimize hardware resources and system performance. - You develop virtualization solutions and implement them technically. - You enter our backup infrastructure and ensure recovery. - You implement security measures according to ISMS requirements and manage permissions. - You enter Kubernetes cluster and containerized applications incl. Automation with ansible and helmet.

• You have a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a comparable qualification – for example as a Bachelor Professional in IT. - You bring profound experience in the administration of virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Nutanix AHV. - You know about backup and recovery solutions like Veeam, Commvault or SEP Sesam and have experience in operating. - You have good knowledge of storage technologies, server hardware and basic network techniques. - You've already created VM templates and images for different operating systems and know what it's about. - You have practical experience in the operation and maintenance of Kubernetes clusters as well as handling containerized applications. - You bring knowledge into container technologies like Docker and can safely integrate them into existing infrastructures. - You are familiar with IT security and the implementation of specifications from an information security management system (ISMS). - You have experience in resource monitoring and you'll create technical documentation structured and understandable.
