We, the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research, are one of 84 institutes and research institutes of the Max Planck Society (MPG) for the promotion of sciences. At present, we employ about 270 employees in science and administration, mainly at our location in Heidelberg. A further location of our institute in Heilbronn is currently being created. In addition, we are part of the Health + Life Science Alliance Heidelberg Mannheim – an association of the leading scientific research institutions in the region. Founded in 2018, Max Planck School Matter to Life (MPS MtL) is a new form of graduate funding. It currently covers 14 sites across Germany and combines teaching and research between non-university research institutions and universities (https://www.maxplanckschools.de/en/matter-to-life). A special feature of the Max Planck School Matter to Life is the high proportion of international students, and business language is therefore English.
