The BBK is the head office of the Federal National Crisis Management Agency in Germany. We ensure the quality of crisis management in a central coordination role with federal, international and cross-sector partners. In view of this task, our interdisciplinary team is growing steadily. We are looking for dedicated professionals who want to make Germany more crisis-proof. We are looking for an unlimited period from 01.10.2026 a technical employee (w/m/d) for the care and maintenance of technical equipment up to E 9a TVöD (Bund) in Unit B.3 Protection of the population and civil defence at the Federal Academy for Civil Protection and Civil Defence (BABZ) at the Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler office.

Support for training – You are in the team responsible for the provision of special training materials (e.g. use vehicles, personal protective equipment, measurement and decontamination technology) and accompany their use in the BABZ events. Together with our lecturers, you prepare training events primarily in the areas of CBRN protection and preclinical care/sanity. Management of the technology – You take over the maintenance and care of the technology used in the training (vehicles, measuring instruments) and personal protective equipment (e.g. chemical protection suits or respiratory masks) in the BABZ respiratory workshop. In addition, you initiate and accompany procurement to maintain this technology. Organisational support – you support the management of the unit in administrative tasks.

You have a vocational training course for the state-tested technician, a completed vocational training in crafts or industry with at least 3 years of regular training or career training for the middle fire-fighting service. You have several years of relevant professional experience. You have already gained several years of practical general or voluntary experience in the field of civil or civil protection (e.g. in the case of a firefighter, the THW or in an auxiliary organisation) or in the Federal Armed Force, preferably with reference to CBRN protection or to sanity. Ideally, you also have the qualification as a respiratory protection device carrier according to firefighter service regulation 2 (FwDv 2), paragraph 3.2. You are ideally already equipped with a class C driver's license, but at least You are owned by the class B driver's licence and provide the willingness and suitability to acquire the C class driver's license. The successful completion of the course of breathing equipment maintenance according to FwDV 2, paragraph 3.9 would be desirable. If you do not have this qualification, you are willing to continue your training for the FwDV 2, paragraph 3.9. Very good German language skills in word and writing (German C1 according to GER) complete your profile. You have appropriate physical performance. You like to work in interdisciplinary teams and act very service-oriented. Multi-day service trips are open to you. Since our tasks are safety-relevant and event-oriented, we need your willingness to extend the safety review and to participate in the BBK crisis organisation.

If you are in an official's relationship, we will take you up to the A9m grade, in the presence of the career requirements for a federal official's service, by means of a disorder with the aim of the transfer.
