(Junior) Data Scientist – Focus on Recommender Systems and Ranking Problems Rental Cars (m/f/d)

Development and operation of Recommender and Ranking systems: You develop and improve productive ranking and recommendation models with direct influence on our car rental product. Your models help to personalize and give preference to search results and offers and thus support our customers' decision making Analysis, experiments and model optimization: You analyze data and model KPIs, perform experiments (A/B tests) and develop our models iteratively Productive integration of models: You integrate your models into our existing system landscape with IT and product teams via APIs and services Work with modern data science and engineering tools: you work with Python and common ML libraries as well as with Git and Docker for reproducible development and operation Monitoring and quality assurance: You monitor the performance of your models and ensure reliable operation and continuous improvement of recommendation quality

Drive and Motivation: You are passionate about data science and machine learning with a clear focus on Recommender Systems and ranking problems. You want to take responsibility for models with high customer impact and are entitled to make a measurable contribution to the quality and performance of our car rental product through data-driven decisions. Experience in the development of data science applications: You have gained practical experience in the development and operation of machine learning applications, from data processing to training to productive use. These include the construction of stable data and training pipelines as well as the work with common ML frameworks (e.g. Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras), ideally also in the context of ranking or Recommender systems (e.g. Learn-to-Rank, Matrix Factorization) Technical skills: You have very good python skills and use them safely in productive environments. You have experience with common data science libraries and first practice in software development, e.g. with version control (Git), containerization (Docker) and the development of APIs. Knowledge of cloud infrastructures and how to use databases are advantageous, but no requirement Passion for AI Tools: You are open to new technologies and working methods and like to use generic AI models (e.g. GPT, Cursor AI), try out new tools and use AI specifically in design, implementation and testing Analytical thinking and solution orientation: You analyze complex issues, identify relevant influencing factors and develop pragmatic, comprehensible solutions. Keeping both technical requirements and customer vision in mind Interdisciplinary mindset: You like to work at the interface between data science, IT and product management.
