Your role: As a team leader Data Platform Engineering, you take the professional and disciplinary leadership of a team of Data Platform Engineers. You are responsible for building, developing and maintaining our modern, cloud-based data platform in Microsoft Azure and Databricks. You combine technological excellence with clear leadership and create the basis for scalable data products, efficient platform engineering and self-service analytics throughout the company.

Professional and disciplinary leadership and targeted further development of a team of 7 Data Platform Engineers Mentoring and technical savings partners for your team with focus on specialization, quality and sustainable engineering standards Responsibility for the development, scaling and operation of the Data Platform infrastructure based on Azure, Azure Databricks and Google Cloud Platform Responsibility for operating the current Oracle Data Warehouse with dedicated engineers and the perspective of transfer to the modern, cloud-based Data Analytics Platform Establishment and development of infrastructure-as-code approaches for standardized, reproducible and secure platform provision Construction and operation of continuous automation and CI/CD pipelines (including Terraform, Azure DevOps, monitoring and security solutions) Close cooperation with Data Engineering, Analytics and other stakeholders to provide stable, performant platform services Ensuring performance, scalability, security, governance and transparency of the Data Platform Evaluation of new cloud and platform technologies and active data platform strategy

Complete master's degree in an STEM subject (e.g. computer science, mathematics, physics) or a comparable qualification At least 8 years of professional experience in data platform engineering, data engineering or cloud platform engineering At least 3 years of experience in a professional and/or disciplinary leadership role Detectional experience in building and operating company-wide data platforms in the public cloud (Azure, Azure Databricks, ideally also Google Cloud Platform) Deep practical experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies (e.g. terraform, Azure ARM, Pulumi) and cloud-native services Very good knowledge of modern software engineering principles such as CI/CD, automated testing and observability Experience with data engineering technologies such as Python, Apache Spark, Airflow or dbt Very good German knowledge in word and writing, good English skills are required
