Research Assistant with Bachelor's Degree – Influence of Green Steels on Forming Manufacturing Processes, Department of Forming Manufacturing Processes (m/f/d)

Branch: Teaching and training Branch: Teaching and training

The Manufacturing Technology Institute – MTI of RWTH Aachen has been standing for successful and pioneering research in the field of production technology for decades. The Forming Manufacturing Process Division is driving the latest innovations in the field of forming technology. For the future-oriented theme “Influence of Alloying Elements on the Formability of Stählen” we are currently looking for reinforcement by a motivated scientific assistant with a Bachelor degree with long-term development potential. The transformation of the national and global steel industry towards sustainable and circular value creation requires intensive research along the entire process chain – from raw steel to the final product and its recycling. The MTI actively shapes the future of production (see Circular Steel Project). A modern machine park is available to the MTI for practical research into the influence of new “Green Steels” specifically on reforming production processes and the resulting components. In addition to the use of a servo-mechanical precision cutting press of the latest generation and an industrially suitable hydraulic press, common sheet metal forming testing methods are used for a practical investigation of the influence of these new steels on the reshapability of the MTI. The effects of modified alloy compositions on component qualities can be analyzed in a targeted manner by means of an in-house metallography and a measuring laboratory equipped to the most modern standards with the possibility of optical and tactile surface measurement, microscopy and material characterization. The RWTH is certified as a family-friendly university. RWTH offers a variety of health, counselling and prevention services (e.g. university sports) as part of a university health management. There is a wide range of training and the possibility of obtaining a job ticket for employees and civil servants. .
