from September and full time in Bonn or Munich.

As a primary digitization partner of the Bundeswehr, we provide stable, safe and efficient IT services in Germany and abroad, from basic operations to the field close to the application and thus contribute to the continuous increase in the leadership and operational capacity of the Bundeswehr. With more than 8,000 colleagues, we operate and modernise one of the largest and most complex IT infrastructures in Germany. We are looking for responsible IT specialists who are convinced that the Bundeswehr-IT will further develop in challenging digitalization projects and thus contribute to Germany's security.

In the Center of Excellence - Software Engineering (SWE), we develop software products with real added value. Our solutions are used in the context of the Bundeswehr and support safety-critical processes, information flows and precise decision-making. With this we actively contribute to the usability, digital sovereignty and technological sustainability of Germany. In agile DevOps teams we live Continuous Life, e.g. in which we continuously increase the degree of automation of our work and devote ourselves to topics such as cloudification, IoT or artificial intelligence.

We revolutionize the training within the Bundeswehr. The focus is on the development of a state-of-the-art teaching management tool that acts as an intelligent “orchestrator”. Using powerful REST interfaces, the application connects systems such as Moodle, Nextcloud and various messaging and collaboration tools.

The highlight: You automate computer commissioning and authorization management. To make sure that students find a fully operational digital working environment from the first day. You actively engage in architectural and technology decisions and shape our applications sustainably.

Your profile:

A completed study of computer science or a comparable IT qualification is of course for you.

Experience: You look back at at at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in software engineering (design, architecture, testing).

Technology Focus: You are a professional in the Kotlin environment (Spring Boot) as well as in the front-end development with React (HTML/CSS/JS).

Methods: You master clean code, design patterns and modern architectural styles. Safe handling of REST and GraphQL as well as Jira/Confluence is required.

Automation: Ideally you have experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab) as well as container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Communication: You have knowledge of German and good English.

Your tasks:

Full Stack Development: You develop modern web and backend applications based on Kotlin, Reactund current database technologies.

End-to-end responsibility: You accompany the entire software lifecycle in a cross-functional team – from the first idea to the deployment.

Clean Code & Quality: You translate complex technical requirements (User Stories) into high-quality, predictable and performant software.

Interface design: You design and implement robust APIs, services and data models.

System optimization: You actively support the operation, deployment and continuous improvement of our application landscape.
