We work on the groundbreaking integration of functional layers, in particular high-performance photovoltaic layers into the vehicle outer skin. Our goal is to significantly increase the performance of our electric vehicles and to meet the highest aesthetic demands. We are looking for a dedicated Masterand*in who helps us explore innovative technologies and advance their integration into our vehicles. Your tasks – challenging and forward-looking: Basic research: Intensive incorporation into the current state of the art through a structured literature and patent research as well as relevant customer studies
Systematic investigation: Analysis of the functioning and integration of (photovoltaic) layers in complex, three-dimensional surfaces of the vehicle outer skin
Process analysis: consideration, construction and testing of various manufacturing processes such as 3D and Screen printing, spraying or film application of functional layers
Material characterization: Accompanying and carrying out experimental investigations for characterizing functional layers (e.g. optical, electrical, mechanical properties) on different substrate surfaces
Performance Analysis: Evaluation of the Efficiency of Integrated Functional Solutions under Different Conditions
Cooperation and Control: Support for the coordination and management of cooperation projects with internal departments, external research institutes and industrial project partners
Modeling and Simulation: Development of Models and Implementation of Simulations to Predict Application Processes
Experimental validation: performing and evaluating test series for experimental validation of the developed processes, as well as practical support in building relevant prototype components
Documentation and presentation: Systematic documentation of results and regular presentation in the project team

Your profile - so you fit into our team: Studies: Continuous master studies in an MINT study subject, such as materials science, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology, mechatronics or chemical engineering
Knowledge: Basic understanding of semiconductor physics, photovoltaics and/or optoelectronics and surface technologies
Skills: Extensive interest in new technologies, high curiosity in innovative developments, analytical thinking, independent and structured working
Languages: Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing
Tools: Secure handling of MS Office; Knowledge of simulation software or measurement data acquisition is advantageous
