The Surgical Clinic A at the Klinikum der Stadt Ludwigshafen comprises 2 stations with 76 beds. According to the current training order, there is a further education authority for basic surgery for 2 years, visceral surgery for 4 years, special visceral surgery for 3 years, proctology for 1 year, thorax surgery for 1 year. The clinic is a part- and main partner of a certified intestinal, pancreas, stomach and visceral-oncological centre.

In the General, Visceral and Thorax Surgery Clinic as well as Surgical Intensive Medicine (Chirurgical Clinic A), under the direction of Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Stefan Willis, a place is to be occupied at the next possible time.
