Clinical and translational research projects at the Myelomzentrum Heidelberg pursue the overall goal of healing multiple myeloma. The “GMMG Central Laboratory and Biobank Multiples Myelom” takes over the important task of bioprobe processing and biomaterial collection for the Myelom Center and the Germany-wide GMMG Study Group. For clinical studies, research projects and routine diagnostics, we specialize in the sorting of highly pure bone marrow tumor cells, focal lesions and peripheral blood in addition to the processing of sample entities such as blood and blood serum, in order to provide them with various local, national and international research projects. Molecular biological and cell-biological laboratory tasks for the production of various samples from human primary material, such as, for example, blood and bone marrow, by means of responsible, multi-stage working steps, such as, for example, magnetic cell sorting, DNA/RNA extraction, density gradient centrifugation, cytospine, etc. Quality determination of sample material (including cell counter, FACS, spectrometer) Input and output of research samples from -20°C, -80°C and -150°C Support of the Doku team with the focus on samples input and output QM team support in quality assurance General laboratory organisation

Successfully completed training as a medical-technical or biological-technical laboratory assistant or biology laboratory assistant*in (BTA/BTLA/MTA/MTLA/BLa). Very good understanding of the requirements for material for molecular biological and molecular genetic analyses (such as cell sorting, FACS, DNA/RNA extraction, cytospine, handling of life cell material, cell quantification). Proven experience in handling sensitive, human sample materials, in particular in dealing with live cells, contamination prevention, sterile working, quality control. Safe handling of standard Microsoft PC applications (in particular Excel) is a prerequisite, further knowledge in the application of e.g. SAP tools are desirable.
