Our team “Development of decorative materials” is responsible for developing, releasing and qualifying all colors for Mercedes-Benz cars in coordination with design, suppliers and production sites. Whether colour on the body, plastic parts, wheels or other exterior components: We bring the colour to the vehicle and provide an optical appearance that fascinates the customers. Within the framework of a bachelor's thesis, we offer the opportunity to process the topic ''non-destructive methods for measuring single layer thicknesses in the bodywork and component coating'' independently and completely. This is about the incorporation into the specified methodology ''Terahertz-Messtechnik'', the production of test specimens, the execution of sample calibrations and the measurement of various paint structures in comparison to established and other new methods.

In addition, the examination of the further use of the measurement technology takes place in adjacent areas.

The activity can begin from mid-October 2026.
