Head of Dezentrale Locations Stadtbibliothek Stuttgart (m/w/d) We are looking for the Cultural Office of the City of Stuttgart, Department of the City Library. The place is 01. May 2026 indefinitely. The City Library Stuttgart is a living place of culture, knowledge and learning. Its special quality consists of the interplay of the city library on the Milan Square with central children's library, music library and Graphothek, the expanded network of the 18 district libraries, the pop-up libraries and the two library buses. You run the Dezentrale office of the city library Stuttgart with 18 district libraries, two pop-up libraries and the driving library You are responsible for the design and innovative technical development of the associated facilities, taking into account the 2030 Agenda and economic criteria, and are represented by the Director in committees dealing with the needs of the urban districts. Together with the Stadteilbibliothekleitungs, you can access library-relevant local, regional and supra-regional programmes, integrate these comprehensively or in selected establishments and link them closely with local civil society initiatives. You are responsible for location issues and for the spatial design of all urban areas as well as for the planning of new facilities. Its tasks include coordination of public relations work for the municipal sector. You work closely with the management of the Central Library and other directors The takeover of late and Saturday services and the support of cultural evening events complete your area of responsibility A change or addition of the task area is reserved.

A degree as a diploma library or master in the field of library and information management, alternatively a degree as a master, diploma or magistrate in the field of literary science, linguistics, philosophy or a comparable degree programme Multiannual professional and managerial experience in a library and in-depth knowledge and experience in editorial work and in the field of information Knowledge of the current developments in the book and media market as well as the library-relevant market of the online databases and knowledge of current library developments Experience in creating concepts and controlling Structured, analytical and conceptual working and very good reflectivity Self-responsible work, high communication skills and joy in cooperative work (inward and outward)
