The staff office is located at the management and works in close coordination with and as a savings partner for the financial and accounting unit management. The main areas of activity are the financial planning and controlling of the Öko-Institut e.V., the cooperation with the association bodies and the processing of tax and commercial matters at the border to the right of use. In the staff office, you take over the following tasks: You are co-responsible for central issues of financial management and controlling, including the control and implementation of sound financial and liquidity planning (creation of budget plans, quarterly and controlling reports and annual accounts) for the Öko-Institut e.V. and a meaningful reporting system. You will coordinate the interfaces to the 100% subsidiary Öko-Institut Consult GmbH, the other units and the research areas. Together with our tax law firm, You are responsible for the implementation of tax issues and issues of accounting according to the tax regulations and HGB with the peculiarities of a non-profit environmental research institute with a commercial subsidiary. In particular, you are also internalr Sparringspartnerin for the management and management of the financial department at the Öko-Institut Consult GmbH. You provide clear, transparent and audit-proof institute regulations for financially effective processes and develop the standards for financial management/controlling further, communicate them to all directly involved and ensure their consistent compliance with the institute. You will also support further digitalization measures. You look at the financial controlling of the Institute's third-party funding projects with public and private funding providers from the national and international areas. You support the smooth implementation of the business management and other contracts between Öko-Institut e.V. and Öko-Institut Consult GmbH incl. Defining and reviewing billing prices in close cooperation with the financial and accounting unit management. You represent the Öko-Institut e.V. in financial technical matters to the outside (especially to authorities, contractors and grantors) as well as to the institute bodies inward and prepare statistics, evaluations and decision-making templates for management and management. You work closely with the Head of Unit of the Financial and Accounting Unit of the Eco-Institut Consult GmbH, the Management and the Heads of the Scientific Areas in financial planning and financial controlling.

You have completed a degree (business, finance or accounting, economics, administrative sciences, etc.) or an education with the focus on finance and accounting, taxes and/or controlling. You have at least five years of professional experience in finance and controlling. Professional experience in research institutions or non-profit organisations is desirable. You bring solid knowledge of HGB accounting and tax law (in particular turnover taxes). You have knowledge of legal and tax regulations of the non-profit sector and external audit regulations. You are characterized by entrepreneurial, strategic and analytical thinking and action and are a cooperative personality with high social competence, make decisions binding and communicate them clearly. You have a secure handling of financial, accounting and cost accounting systems (Datev) as well as the digitization of financial and controlling processes. You have an independent, self-responsible way of working with a strong organizational and very good team capacity and are ready to travel regularly to our other locations. You have very good English skills (written and oral) and can apply them professionally safely in cooperation with (European/international) partners.
