Plan, design, lead: your expertise for “Stadtgreen Neuss”! The city of Neuss is the largest circular city in Germany with its approximately 160,000 inhabitants. The lively and economically strong city on the left Lower Rhine connects a history rich in tradition over two thousand years with attractive green areas, a wide range of recreational and leisure activities and a very good infrastructure connection. In 2026, Neuss will host the Landesgartenschau and invite numerous visitors to the city for this unique experience. The company “Stadtgrün Neuss” is responsible for the planning, development and maintenance of urban green and outdoor facilities as well as for the cemetery and combines strategic planning with operational implementation. In the course of a comprehensive restructuring last year, the areas of administration and cemetery care as well as green planning and green care were once again bundled and oriented towards the future. The planning department with its ten employees implements innovative and urban-image-like projects, such as the development of the “Grünspange Süd” as a green belt around the city of Neuss and gives important impulses for a sustainable and modern fulfillment of the diverse tasks of the own business. In this function you report directly to the operating line.

Management and control of the planning department as well as the associated field of green areas and landscape planning and the two staff departments Design and implementation of urban green planning, including the realization of projects in the public green, play and sports areas Further development of rural and urban landscape and recreation planning Control and technical cooperation in construction planning procedures, for example in the implementation of ecological intervention and compensation measures Responsible budget management and preparation of strategic documents for appointments of management in political bodies Motivating and estimating leadership of employees and accompanying the change of culture in the context of restructuring

Successfully completed engineering studies (graduate degree, master or doctoral degree), for example in the field of landscape architecture, landscape building/care/planning or a comparable discipline Multi-annual professional experience Knowledge of landscape planning and object planning and project implementation Leadership experiences or personal and social skills are desirable for modern staff management Innovative, implementation-oriented and structured working methods With your professional expertise and a strong service awareness, you actively contribute ideas and impulses to the further development of your department as well as city-focused projects.
