System Engineer Backup (m/w/d)

from now on and in full time in Bonn, Munich, Strausberg, Wilhelmshaven or alternatively nationwide at one of our BWI locations.

As a primary digitization partner of the Bundeswehr, we provide stable, safe and efficient IT services in Germany and abroad, from basic operations to the field close to the application and thus contribute to the continuous increase in the leadership and operational capacity of the Bundeswehr. With more than 8,000 colleagues, we operate and modernise one of the largest and most complex IT infrastructures in Germany. We are looking for responsible IT specialists who are convinced that the Bundeswehr-IT will further develop in challenging digitalization projects and thus contribute to Germany's security.

Central Operations focuses on shared service delivery (SSO). At any time we have a look at the operating status of the systems and services. With fine sensor technology, we detect malfunctions in time and act reactively on fault messages from our customers.

The Backup department is part of IT Operation Management and provides uninterrupted performance through georedundant setup, a high degree of automation and well-trained employees within the specified Service Level Agreements.

Your profile:

• Complete professional training with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience
• Knowledge of IBM Spectrum Protect (ISP) or experience with Dell Networker
• Experience in system administration (operating systems, network)
• Work in IT operation
• Self-working in 2nd level support of backup environments
• Team skills, willingness to lead others
• Flowing German knowledge and good English skills

Your tasks:

Measures to ensure operation in the assigned environments

Independent processing of complex tasks

Operation monitoring of the respective backup software and cleaning of fault states

Detection and cleaning of difficult fault situations

Editing backup topics as part of Incident Management

Knowledge of the associated operating concepts, work instructions and documentation
