Head of Software Engineering (m/f/d)

Leadership and Organization Direct professional and disciplinary leadership of the engineering teams (20MA) as well as the associated team leads and tech leads Building, developing and binding talents Establishing a culture of self-responsibility and open fault communication Predictive planning of resources, identifying bottlenecks early, making priorities transparent Dedicate when priorities collide, and make clear decisions even in uncomfortable situations

Technology and operation Overall responsibility for architecture, scalability and reliability of our hosting platforms (SCP, NCP, CCP) Ensuring availability, performance and operational reliability across multiple data center locations Definition and enforcement of technical standards, development processes and quality guidelines Identification of optimization potentials and continuous development of existing development processes

Strategy & Effect Translation of business goals into a feasible technical roadmap and transparent communication of progress Designing the product and business strategy as part of the leadership team Responsibility for the engineering budget with focus on cost, efficiency and quality optimization Close cooperation with Product, Operations, Customer Support and Marketing to focus technical decisions on business requirements and customer benefits

The most important thing first: You lead people Proven leadership experience, especially in leadership of executives and cross-functional engineering teams Impressed ability to identify potentials and develop people (on the professional and leadership career) Experience with honestly questioning existing structures and not losing the people You have built up Experience in dealing with conflicts – deescalation and mediation between different interests

Technical and technical Completed technical training or studies in the field of computer science or a comparable field Multiannual experience in software or software System development, ideally in a hosting, cloud or infrastructure environment Deep understanding of modern architecture and agile development methods and safe handling of modern development processes Experience in the modernization of legacy systems towards contemporary architectures with the understanding that technical change only succeeds when people are taken behind it

Personal and entrepreneurial Embossed analytical and conceptual strength combined with a solution- and result-oriented approach Ability to communicate technical complexity understandably and make sustainable decisions Own-sponsored, structured working and entrepreneurial thinking and hands-on mentality Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing
